Moving Tips
Telephones - it is important that we be able to reach you at both locations. Contact the phone company a week in advance. Continue service at your old address and begin the service at your new address on the day of your move. You may want to keep a phone unpacked for this purpose.
Parking - The day before your move be sure that parking’s available for the moving truck. Park your own cars or put barrels in place to prevent others from using the necessary spaces. Remember, a truck needs about 40 feet of space.
Elevators - Reserve, if required. Call our office with the time limitations. Management companies are sometimes very unyielding concerning access.
Storage - Please secure your arrangements in advance and let the storage facility know the date of your move. If you cannot meet your crew, be sure we have your release form.
Hoisting - Please be aware that bulky items from your old address may pose difficulties moving into your new address. Alerting the office to these possibilities will help us prepare and avoid delays.
Pianos - We need to know the size and type so that we will bring the appropriate equipment and manpower. There is a surcharge, according to the type of piano.
Insurance - All licensed common carriers are required to insure your goods at the rate of $.60 per pound per article. Regardless of the valuation amount, in the unlikely event of damage, we will make every effort to make repairs quickly, and to your satisfaction.
Deposit - $100 deposit reserves the date, moving truck, men & equipment. The balance is due on the day of your move, upon completion of the job.
Payment - Payment is expected at the completion of your move in the form of certified checks, bank checks, or cash.
Tips - Although customary in the moving and storage industry, gratuities are accepted as an expression of your satisfaction of a job well done and are not an obligation.
Cancellations & Postponements - 24 hours notice must be given for any change of plans. Deposits will be returned only if 24 hours notice is given.
Guarantee - We stand by our work. If unforeseen circumstances delay us, understand that this is not intended. We always fulfill our obligations on the agreed day.
PACKING & SUPPLIES:
Packing - Three Brothers offers a professional packing service at a reduced hourly rate from our moving service. For those who prefer packing themselves, we offer a full line of packing supplies at a competitive price. Limited, free delivery is available one day per week. We strongly recommend that you use proper moving cartons to save time and to protect your possessions. If you obtain your own boxes, please be sure they have tops that can be sealed and are strong enough to do the job. Try to get boxes that are similar in size. Uniformity of size will save time and ensure safe stacking.
Book Boxes - Use for books as well as smaller items. Small pictures may be wrapped in padding as long as the box is marked "fragile." Records can be placed upright. These are also good for kitchen utensils
Medium Boxes - Appropriate for pots and pans, toaster ovens, mixers and other large kitchen items: pillows, towels, linens, baskets, lampshades, and other lightweight bulky items.
